Zerto 9.5 is here! This update is packed with new features and key improvements to the Zerto you already know and love. But maybe you’re saying, “I have Zerto 8.5 and I’m happy with it. Why do I need to upgrade?” That’s a great question. Here’s what you need to know.
Data is our superpower
Businesses run on data—in a landscape that’s changing by the minute. Keeping up with the latest updates isn’t just a fad. It’s business critical. As organizations adopt cloud technologies to improve agility, scalability, and cost-efficiency across multiple cloud platforms and on-premises infrastructure they encounter many challenges—from ransomware threats and disaster recovery to data mobility and regulatory requirements. ThinkOn Disaster Recovery with the new and improved Zerto 9.5, allows you to overcome today’s data challenges with broader application scope, faster recovery times, reduced downtime, minimized data loss, and—for public sector organizations—robust data protection, disaster recovery, and reporting requirements.
Smarter, faster, stronger…
ThinkOn Disaster Recovery with Zerto 9.5 offers new and improved functionality like enhanced continuous data protection (CDP), new ransomware functionality for Linux, more options for immutability, and expanded integration with Google Cloud Platform.
Continuous data protection
Zerto 9.5’s improved CDP allows for faster and more frequent data replication, ensuring minimal data loss in the event of a disruption. Enhanced File-Level Restore allows users to choose a source (Journal or Repository), select a point-in-time and a VM to restore from, and then browse files and folders to restore—all from a unified, easy-to-use restore wizard.
With the new Exclude Disk from Replication functionality, users can exclude Virtual Machine disk volumes from replication, creating more options for each disk attached to a VM.
Expanded immutability options
Ransomware is generally no match for immutable data copies, which means they can be used to recover encrypted data after a ransomware attacki. Zerto 9.5 builds on existing immutability options with the addition of Microsoft Azure and S3-compatible storage as a destination for immutable data copies.
Linux virtual appliance and instant file restore
Linux users rejoice! Zerto’s new Linux virtual appliance deploys quickly, enables increased security through multi-factor authentication, and provides improved management efficiency with hands-off upgrades and troubleshooting. Zerto 9.5 also introduces instant file restore for Linux, allowing users to restore directly back to the source within Linux VMs—a feature previously only supported for Windows files and VMs.
Expanded Integration with Google Cloud Platform
Data protection for cloud platforms is a valuable tool in the battle against ransomware. With Zerto 9.5’s Google Cloud Storage support for additional data copies, GCS is now a destination platform for long-term retention of replica data copiesii.
