Strategic partnership pairs ThinkOn’s sovereign cloud infrastructure with SkyeConnex’s encrypted, multi-cloud data custody platform, giving organizations a faster path to data sovereignty without migrating off the clouds they already use
TORONTO and OTTAWA, September 29th, 2026 – Think On, Inc. (ThinkOn), a Canadian-owned sovereign cloud provider, and SkyeConnex, the company that defined the Data Sovereignty as a Service (DSaaS) category, today announced a strategic partnership that combines ThinkOn’s sovereign cloud infrastructure with SkyeConnex’s encrypted, multi-cloud data platform. The joint offering gives enterprises a faster route to data sovereignty without the cost and disruption of migrating off the hyperscaler environments they already run on.
Organizations in government, defence, healthcare, finance, legal and other regulated industries face growing pressure to control where their data lives, who can access it, and under which jurisdiction it sits. For most, the only path has been a slow, expensive migration off the hyperscaler platforms they depend on, one that can take years and, even once complete, often still leaves gaps in functionality compared to where they started.
Together, ThinkOn and SkyeConnex offer another path. SkyeConnex’s platform encrypts data at the source and distributes it in fragments across a network of independent storage locations so that no single provider or government ever holds a complete, readable copy, and none can be compelled to produce one. Policy controls let organizations choose exactly which countries or regions their data can reside in based on the compliance regimes they answer to. Customers keep the clouds and applications they already have – a “bring your own cloud” model.
As part of the strategic partnership, ThinkOn’s sovereign Canadian cloud becomes the strategic anchor partner in Canada inside the SkyeConnex platform, built on infrastructure designed specifically for data that requires enhanced protection. The result pairs two layers of protection: Canadian-owned infrastructure under Canadian law, and sovereignty enforced in the architecture of the data itself.
The joint offering, expected to be commercially available in Q4 2026 will be sold through ThinkOn’s channel-only ecosystem of more than 200 channel partners starting with Canada first and then expanding to the US and Australia.
The combined offering also carries forward SkyeConnex’s post-quantum encryption, built on the NIST-standardized ML-KEM-1024 (FIPS 203) and ML-DSA-87 (FIPS 204) algorithms, and its API-first design, meaning sovereignty controls can run invisibly behind the applications teams already use.
The offering is designed to let organizations achieve enforceable data sovereignty in a matter of weeks rather than the years a full migration typically demands.
“Every enterprise wants control over where its data lives, but almost none of them can afford to rebuild their infrastructure to get it. This partnership lets us give ThinkOn customers and partners sovereignty that extends to the data they still hold in the hyperscalers, without asking them to rip anything out,” said Craig McLellan, CEO of ThinkOn.
“Sovereignty shouldn’t take years to achieve, and it shouldn’t rest on a promise. Pairing our platform with ThinkOn’s sovereign cloud gives customers sovereignty by architecture, with jurisdictional control from day one, on Canadian infrastructure built for exactly this purpose,” said Ross Norrie, CEO & Founder of SkyeConnex.

About SkyeConnex
SkyeConnex, headquartered in Ottawa, delivers data sovereignty as a property of the data itself, not a promise.
